Parent Groups

Namao School has several parent groups that enhance learning at our school and give parents the opportunity to get involved in their child’s school community.

Fundraising Association

The Namao School Fundraising Association (NSFA) is a registered society whose main purpose is to seek sources of funding from federal, provincial and municipal governments by applying for grants, approaching private foundations, and corporations for financial support (partnerships) and by organizing fundraising activities that involve the school and community in order to enhance the co-curricular and extracurricular activities in the school.

Music Parents Association

The Namao Music Parents Association (NAMPA) is a registered society whose prime objective is to raise funds to enhance the instrumental band program at Namao School. This organization provides the school with additional band instruments and provides funds to students to support band camps and extended band trips.

School Council

Namao School Council (NSC) is an association of Parents, Teachers, Principal, School Trustee, Namao Agricultural Society and Community Representatives who have joined together to enhance the effectiveness of the entire school community in a manner that supports learning for all students individually and collectively. The School Council is an association whose purpose is to foster, encourage and facilitate cooperation among all participants in the school community and to provide advisory assistance to the Principal and Board of Trustees.

Our school council follows the guidelines specified by Alberta Education and Sturgeon Public Schools. It allows various stakeholder groups more opportunities to become involved in the decision-making process at Namao School.
