Headstart
Headstart helps children get a jumpstart on their education. It is designed for children between the ages of 3½ to 5 who need communication and/or developmental support.
The program focuses on building skills in these areas:
- Communication
- Social development
- Physical development
- Psychological and emotional development
Headstart takes a dual approach in learning, offering both in-class and at-home support. In the classroom, hands-on activities and interactive learning make for a rich experience. Families are also given support on how to continue educational success at home.
Headstart is delivered by qualified staff and therapists. It is offered five days a week during the school year.
Screening Required
Children accepted into Headstart must meet qualifications determined by Alberta Education. View Sturgeon Public School Division’s calendar for upcoming screening dates or contact Early Childhood Services at 780-939-4341 for more information.
